Comparing Audi A3 Cabriolet and Mini Cooper Convertible, The soft top version of the well-praised A3 Sedan car has brought all the way to India by Audi. The only competition of the model is Mini Cooper Convertible since BMW is not selling 3 series convertible anymore. Difference 1: Price A huge price difference is an apparent. (A3 Cabriolet costs Rs. 44.75 Lac & Mini Cooper costs Rs. 34.80 Lac) Difference 2: Interiors The dashboard is borrowed by A3 sedan in A3 cabriolet and in Cooper convertible it is borrowed by its hatch. Moreover, the dashboard appears to have a quirky and sort of classic retro look; Audi gets you truly elegant & little less of claustrophobic design. On the infotainment part, Mini will get you a central speedometer mounted MID (Multi-information-display). Audi has a 7 inch pop out screen (featuring Audi’s MMI along with a touch pad). However, a match is both Audi & Mini has a unit containing non touch display & that unit is controlled by a joystick placed behind a gear lever. Difference 3: Exteriors A3 Cabriolet is the inspired model from A3 Sedan and that Copper convertible is inspired by its Cooper Hatch. A3 looks contemporary and Mini gives a retro feel. The roof-top in A3 can be retracted in 18 seconds (at the speed up to 50kmph) while that in cooper is taking 19 seconds (around the speed of 30kmph). A3 will get our attention while having a look at the sheer size. It has 4m to 4.4m length of sheer size where as Mini has 3.7m. Difference 4: Safety A3 cabriolet has 7 airbags. (2 front airbags, front side airbags, head airbags & driver’s knee airbag). Mini Cooper gets you 4 airbags. (2 front airbags, head/thorax airbags) A3 cabriolet comes with Active Rollover Protection, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) & Electronic limited-slip differential. Mini Cooper offers Dynamic Stability Control & Active Rollover Bar. (Adaptive Headlights & Dynamic Traction Control are optional in case of Mini) Difference 5: Engine, Efficiency & Overall Performance Look at both engines and A3 Cabriolet will win. A3 Cabriolet has Turbo charged 1.8 litre TFSI Petrol Engine. Mini Cooper Convertible has 1.6 litre Engine. A3 cabriolet chucks out 177bhp & 250Nm Torque via 1798cc engine. Mini gets out 122bhp & 160Nm torque via 1598cc. A3 Cabriolet gets you 7 Speed S Tronic Automatic Box Transmission. Mini has 6 Speed Automatic unit for the same. After getting bigger blocks as well; A3 Cabriolet zooms from 0 to 100kmbph in 7.8 kmph. Mini takes 11.1 seconds for the same. Difference 6: Technical Specifications
